Fall n’ Leaves (or in Love!) This October
This year, I had almost given up on getting cozy under a blanket on a hay bale ride, holding hands on a Hallowe’en haunt (for safety purposes, of course), and sneaking in cinnamon smooches in between sips of apple cider at the orchard as autumn leaves start to fall. While we may have been locked up for most of the year, we’ve quickly figured out how to have some epic experiences on a smaller, socially-distant scale. Last year, my October was full of spooky surprises, but I think 2020 has been scary enough, don’t you?
Style of the Season
Don your Canadian tuxedo or the latest Hilary MacMillan trench. Bundle up in your cutest beanies, plaidest plaid, fallest flannel, and most infinite scarf. Roll up your iconic HBC stripes blanket and venture just beyond the Entertainment District, where your inner Witchy Woman, Fall Fashionista, or Basic B in UGG boots can revel in Instagram Heaven – without ever leaving the city! Just don’t throw a pile of leaves in slow-mo. It’s Queen and Bathurst and truly, you don’t know where they’ve been.

The Ultimate October Date in Toronto
Kiss Me Pop-up (in transition to soon become “Fall n’ Leaves”) can be found on the South West corner of Bathurst & Richmond. We may have missed the Canadian National Exhibition (and its incredible CNE Food Hall) due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its restrictions, but we’re lucky to have had the option to pivot with this super sweet pop-up!
The Kiss Me Pop-up was open from July 31 – September 7, 2020. The whimsical experience had lots of unique food and drink options including a Tiki Bar with licensed patio and one of a kind drinks, unique soft serve ice creams, a 10 Foot Wood Fire BBQ Pit and 16 food stations with lots of vegetarian items. Fall n’ Leaves will run from October 1 through October 13, 2020.
Fall n’ Leaves will offer:
- Fire Pits burning throughout the property placed around tables for warmth (layering up is still recommended!)
- Hay Bale Pumpkin Bowling
- Pumpkin Painting
- Unique Eats and Treats (think items served in pumpkins, Candy Corn Corn on the Cob, Wood-Fired Pizza, Butternut Squash Ravioli served IN a Squash, Thanksgiving Margaritas, and Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules)
- Paint Nights (for groups of 4 or 6 people)
- Wine Tastings (for groups of 4 or 6 people with wines from around the world which are not available at the LCBO)

164 Bathurst St, Toronto (The old Football Factory)
Hours of Operation:
Opening October 1 through October 13, 2020
- Thursdays and Fridays: 4PM -Late
- Saturdays and Sundays 12PM -Late
Things Worth Noting:
- The entire experience is outdoors. Warm clothes are recommended, high heels are not. Move in one direction: Guests must walk in one direction through the market until they reach the exit or sit down to eat.
- Seating: All tables are spread 6 feet apart from one another.
- Credit/Debit: Cash is accepted, however paying by credit or debit is recommend.
Safety:
- Masks: It is recommended that you bring a mask, however they are also provided at the door. All employees wear gloves and masks at all times.
- Sanitization: There are various sanitization stations spread out throughout and encouraged to be used. Surfaces are wiped and sanitized regularly.
- Entry Limit: For everyone’s safety, the amount of people allowed in the market and on the patio at any given time are limited. Additionally, all foods offered on-site are also offered to-go.
- Contact Tracing: Names and phone numbers will also be recorded to allow for contact tracing.
The Kiss Me Pop-up boasted:
- Kiss Me Ice Cream Shoppe – These creative flavours were the ultimate sweet summer treat and were available in a fruit or cone:
- Buttery Beer: A play on the famous Harry Potter Butter Beer, but turned into a soft serve flavour!
- Coconut Avocado: Ice cream, inside a real coconut shell.
- Pineapple Dole Whip Float: Rotating fruit flavours, watermelon, mango, and pineapple. Sold as soft serve or submerged in juice.
- Pickle Ice Cream: The Toronto OG of pickle ice cream.
- Wat a Melon: Rotating fruit flavours, watermelon, mango, and pineapple.
- Kiss Me Licensed Patio – The Tiki Bar offered an array of wild cocktails (and mocktails) such as:
- Cotton Candy Rosè Champagne & Wine
- Fresh Mango Chili Beer
- Hard Pickle Lemonade Margarita
- Summer Citrus Rosè Sangria
- Schmore Cocktail
- Fresh Pineapple Jager in a Pineapple
- Sweet Jalapeno Shooters
- Kiss Me Food Market – Tons of Delicious eats reminiscent of the CNE Food Hall.
- Doggie Brunch, BBQ & Brews – Have brunch, Sip a Caesar or Mimosa, and let your pooch enjoy some kibble delight.
- Drag Queen Brunch & BBQ – This event sells itself! I hope they’ll find a way to keep it around as temperatures drop!
